Joys Of Summer

We have been enjoying the return of the Sun in Maine. We spent one day at beloved Range Pond (pronounced rang) and another up at The Point (family camp), on the water in the canoe. Pure heaven. We sometimes like to get away from ocean swimming and enjoy the calmer fresh water ponds and lakes. I had fun throwing the kids around in the water, and yes, I even let my son jump off my shoulders, oh about a thousand times. Alex and I have been reading the Sookie Stackhouse novels (and watching True Blood, based on the books), which we're finding perfect summer reading.

I love getting out in the canoe and it had been far too long since we had been, so that was great.

Of course we also had to have a campfire and have s'mores. (shh...I don't care for them, but the kids love them).

In honor of our fabulous weekend in the sun and on the water, here's this week's Bench Monday.

Have you seen this yet?

Don't you just want to go dancing in the streets now?

  1. Lovely post! It looks like the weekend we keep planning, but we keep getting rained out. I just finished reading Dead as A Doornail and enjoyed it, but it was the only book in the series that wasn't already checked out of the library here, so I think everybody must be reading those this Summer.

  4. Hey Everyone--thanks so much for dropping by, reading and for your sweet comments. I'm having a busy Friday and didn't even know that Jane had directed folks here--lovely surprise!! If anyone is hungry for more Maine, I have many more posts in my archives. Many thanks.

Oh yes, Crescent Moon--still trying to locate Harris' books--we're down to either purchasing them or waiting for the sloooowww inter-library loan.

So many of our summer days are spent on the ocean, it was good to get out on the ponds.

    Blessed Be!

  7. I love it! And so often with that life was more like musical theater. Every day should include a little spontaneous sychronized dancing.
