With our mother and Nana gone just a week, and the emotions of yesterday catching up with us, our Second Day of Yule was not all that celebratory. Instead, we each spent a good deal of the day in sadness, beginning to excavate the depths of our grief and come to terms with this unexpected journey that we've found ourselves on. I suppose it was fitting then, that we braved the poor road conditions in the first wintery weather we've had this December, and took ourselves to see The Hobbit. Traipsing around with beloved characters from books and films for three hours was the best we could do, today.
