It must be almost July because here we are in the last few full-run rehearsals for The Dance Company's "The Best of Broadway" show held in July and August in Ocean Park. Olivia and Adam have danced with the company for three years now. So we're busy pulling the final bits of costume together, the kids have four hour rehearsals (no small feat after a day spent at the beach), Alex is working on the music and I'm finding myself moving into hyper-organized mode. The show consists Broadway-style dance numbers set in a variety show format performed by kids, teens and adults in full-costume. The show is so much fun and it has managed to hang on to that small town community theater feeling while offering a program unique to our area. That's so fun! But hard work I know... my kids have been in several musicals through the local high school. I always pitched in with set building, costumes, props, rehearsal snacks. You name it!
