Today the love of my life is 36 years old. And for half of his life, and his entire adult life, I have been blessed to know and love him and be his friend and partner in all things. I'll try my best to make it a special day for him, because he deserves not one, but really, multiples of special days.
And to you, Alex. Thank you. Thank you for being so enduringly patient, generous, hard-working, loving, so goddamn funny and sexy-smart and for being so plain old kind. Kind is underrated. It's been a tremendous gift and honor to be by your side for half your life.
