In the past, we've had a second Yule for family and friends on Boxing Day (and Alex and I are thinking next year we will return to that tradition, eh hem). --Allow me a moment here to say, go read that Boxing Day link right now. It's been only two weeks since Alex's mom, Nana, died. This holiday was bound to feel odd and out of sorts at times. :sigh:
So today we did not have our traditional Boxing Day. In other years we have put away Yule before the New Year, but not immediately following Santa. We began today. It's time to move forward. Time to relax, retreat and be kind to our spirits for awhile. Making Yule is wonderful and we love every bit, but when it's done, it's done and we're ready to have freshened spaces and more snow and a clean start before January (and a winter storm) arrives.
Today, we played new games, relaxed, read, got rankled, got un-rankled, and yes, began clearing out Yule.
