I don't know about you, but whenever we have these long stretches of rain, and I do mean long, like record setting long, and check out this forecast...yikes--it makes Alex and I turn to each other and say, "this feels like All Summer In A Day". We've had only a handful of sunny days this June, making it one of the wettest Junes, evah. Which means today's Bench Monday looks like this, again.
If you are one of my friends living with soaring heat, perhaps you would welcome a break in the swelter, or perhaps this will make you appreciate your blazing sun in a whole new way. Perhaps you remember this tale, like we have, from your childhood? I know it has stuck with me all these years. Be sure to check out parts 2 and 3 also. The story is 30 minutes long.
Oh my, so here I am checking out the streaming ray bradbury video (which brings to my mind his short story "the vacation") and what to listening ears should appear but the sound of that funny michael j fox movie "secret of my success" song "oh yeah". too funny. the volume was so soft I couldn't figure out where it was coming from. anyway. thanks for the post and here's to some sun coming maybe Thursday...
ReplyDeleteIt is dreadful.... we are trying to find interesting things to do inside - marathon movies/baking/reading.
ReplyDeleteHere's to the return of the sun!
Jodi--thanks for visiting! Oh yes, I had to have some summer movie faves from the '80s on that summer playlist, including the song you mention by Yello, which is also used to great effect in Ferris Bueller's Day Off and I think, Planes Trains And Automobiles. I also have the Night Ranger "Secret Of My Success" song on it. That's one of those movies that I could watch over and over, mindless, but brings me back to age 15 instantly.
ReplyDeleteTara--yeah...lots of that here, too.
